The Los Angeles Clippers are about to go into the biggest free-agent season ever with no head coach at its helm to help sell the franchise to potential players. Last night, the team was working on changing that with a meeting with former Chicago Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro and team owner Donald Sterling, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Marc J.

Hawks re-interviewing Mark Jackson

Former NBA point guard and current ESPN analyst Mark Jackson has never coached in the NBA but he’s getting a second interview for the Atlanta Hawks head-coaching gig, according to AOL Fanhouse. The site reports that Jackson is a finalist for the job along with Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Dwane Casey, former Mavs head coach Avery Johnson, and Hawks assistant Larry Drew.

Hornets seek permission from Blazers and Jazz

The New Orleans Hornets aren’t alone in the search for a new head coach and the team has apparently identified four of the gentlemen it would like to take over for Jeff Bower who Hornets fans have got to hope does a better job in the front office than he did on the coaching sidelines. One of the men the Hornets may end up hiring is former Houston Rockets coach and New Orleans native Avery Johnson. He team also is apparently talking to Mavs assistant coach Dwane Casey, who also supposedly has some interest from the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers .
